Three things a human copywriter can do better than ChatGPT

When ChatGPT arrived on the scene in late 2022, it’s fair to say that more than a few copywriters were worried.

This futuristic technology from OpenAI (along with similar generative content tools like Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot) promised to change the way we all write forever.

No need to spend hours researching topics or thinking up creative ways to write about them – instead, outsource the task to AI, freeing up time and headspace for other things.

The tech is undeniably impressive, but it’s still far from perfect. I may be biased, but in my opinion, there’s still no replacement for working with a human copywriter – someone who can ask the right questions, grasp the subtle nuances of a brand’s tone of voice and produce content that reflects the unique perspective of a business or organisation.

Here are three things a professional copywriter can do better than ChatGPT and similar AI tools.

1. Get to know your business personally

One of the most important parts of my job as a professional copywriter is getting to know the businesses I work with on a personal level. Only by doing this can I write content with genuine personality, communicating the subtle nuances and details that make each business unique.

2. Write consistently in your brand voice

Your brand voice is a valuable USP. The way you discuss issues and topics that matter to your customers could be the difference between them choosing your business over a competitor. While AI tools like ChatGPT can adapt their tone, they can’t truly know what makes your business stand apart from others.

3. Solve your biggest content problems

Need a partner to listen to your content challenges, understand your specific needs and come up with a bespoke solution for your business? AI isn’t it. Sure, ChatGPT is good at generating content quickly, but when it comes to creative problem-solving, a human professional writer is still your best bet.

If the content you’re sharing isn’t getting you the results you want, it might be time to team up with an expert.

Whether you need professional copy for your website, a series of engaging posts to share on social media or a strategy to keep your content marketing consistent, I can help.
